I must apologize for my absence lately. My blogging used to be very regular on weekends, but lately my weekends have been taken up with volunteering for a children’s theater company. I have been helping paint sets and props, and that has been taking up my usual blogging times. Soon I will be finished with that though, because the performance is fast approaching.
One of my favorite projects has been to take a very large paper mache dragon head (It takes two people inside to carry the head and operate the jaw) and give it a makeover. It was originally made for the play sleeping beauty, and had the colors of blue, green, purple, black and silver. Now the theater company needs it for Shrek the Musical, so it needs to be maroon, orange, yellow, and gold. It also needs to look more feminine, so it needs eyelashes and lips.
I would like to post a photo of it, but I need to keep those private until after the performance. I can share a “before” photo though, of what it looked like before I started giving it a makeover.
First here it is in the play Sleeping Beauty, right after being slain. I am sharing this photo to show her size and her horns:
Now here are two pictures showing her with her horns detached. She’s waiting for her makeover:
So, at this time she is actually almost finished, but I can’t share those photos yet, so I’ll just share these before photos now, and a promise that soon I’ll share her “after” photos.
